Fat Tusday

Thank you to all of our guests who supported the French Market West for Fat Tuesday, 2008. We started preparations several weeks before the event to ensure it went off without a hitch. We ordered 350 lb. of crawfish and nearly $1000.00 in party favors, like Mardi Gras beads, masks, jester hats, and flags.
The party began early and did not end until 11:00pm. We hosted more than 500 guests that day, and fun was had by all. In fact, everyone packed away a record amount of authentic Cajun and Creole seafood!
For the 10th year in a row, we served free King Cake. Each cake had a single, hidden baby Jesus. The lucky souls who received a slice with the baby, were also awarded prizes, including gourmet coffee. (Incidentally, even though the traditions states that whoever gets the baby in their piece of cake must throw the next Mardi Gras party, we can assure you the best place to be next year will be at the French Market Grille West!)
